This torch grows very quickly - I’ll have one ready when you are ready!

Can you ship to upstate NY, Rochester area?
I hate shipping because I’m always worried that the coral will die intransit. Besides, you are at the mercy of the shipping companies and the weather.

Hey - you are only 5 hours away! (NY is a pretty big state!)

I gotcha! Yeah, that's a far enough haul that I'll have to pass for the moment, but thanks for the reply and good luck with your sale!

Have you ever shipped any of your corals?

No, I have not. I'm just getting back into reefing after a long time out. Previously I got a lot of my corals from local reefers inexpensively, but I really can't find anyone near me currently. I'm looking for torches in particular, nothing super high end, but I'd love to pick up one or two more. I fully understand if you're not comfortable shipping, so no worries!

Oh the things we do for this hobby! I haven’t shipped either but am willing to Learn. I’m going to start a thread about shipping here on R2R and see if I can get some good instructions.

I think they have insulated boxes with heat packs that can be purchased. After that, individually double bag each coral, and maybe add some packing peanuts or something to take up extra room in the box so they don't rattle around the whole time. I've received a few orders, and that's basically what I've seen, but I've never done it, so by all means take a look into it. I'm not far away at all, and willing to be a potential shipping guinea pig, of sorts ;-) But no worries at all if you don't want to ship at this time.

The coral forum has a section that covers shipping:

https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/propagation-packing-and-shipping-discussion.20/

A couple stickies right on the top discussing shipping, if it helps.

This is excellent information. Thank you!

Have to see about setting up a FedEx Account and then getting designated as an Approve Live Fish Shipper!

Oh geez, I had no idea it was so involved! I was only thinking of the packaging part.
