I am setting up a new tank, which I WILL do a build thread for. I am having trouble deciding between the following two options:

1. Trigger Platinum sump, with built in roller mat.
2. Trigger Sapphire sump, with deltec roller mat, hard plumbed to the main drain.

My concerns are the quality and 'flimsiness' of the roller mat integrated within the Trigger Platinum sump. I believe the deltec rollermat appears to be of much higher quality, plus changing the rolls looks considerably easier. The downside of the deltec, is that it will take up more space in the sump, leaving less space for the refugium.

I was hoping that I could get some input from you guys. Thanks!

That's all well and good. But what are the issues or features you are debating about?

As OP stated my concerns are the cheapness of the rollermat installed on the trigger. Its seems as several have had issues. Just wanted to see other opinions and or suggestions

I guess in theory if you have the better and more reliable roller mat, then you would need a small sump area for fuge, etc. I have actually ordered a Deltec roller mat myself due to having Deltec products in the past. Pretty expensive but I loved the skimmer so I am going to take a chance on the roller.
