I just found this little guy at one of my suppliers today, and picked him up for my display since I'd never really seen one that looked like that before. The funny thing is, he's so transparent that he didn't look like anything in the bag, so I got him for free, which wasn't so funny when I got home and threw out an "empty" bag of water since I forgot that I'd bought him. Eventually I remembered that it wasn't an empty bag of water... So is there an id on this one? Seems to be instantly getting along with my clownfish pair, even put up with some "test eating" when they were trying to decide if he was edible or not...

I have seen them like that when they are stressed....I would give it time to find out what color it is.

I had a clown goby that looked exactly like that...
My LFS told me it was normal, and it seemed pretty happy for me, although it ate like a pig, it withered away after about 7 months...

wow, never seen a light blue one (if that is indeed its true color). i've seen some black ones though.

since it was wild caught, is it eating yet? i've had alot of trouble getting clown gobies to eat.

I've never seen a blue clown goby before. Very cool looking. I have a yellow clown, cinnamon clown and a green citron clown. Whenever I see a new color I end up buying them.

me too, I think they're a really cool fish

fortunately this one's been eating well since day one, so we'll see how it turns out, it's very personable so far, pretty much perches right on the front glass of the tank

Looks to me like Gobiodon unicolor.

The had about 8 in at one of my LFSs a few weeks ago. They were labelled
Blue Clown Gobies and were $3.99 each.

Wanted a few but, no place to put them.

Really cute though.

Wow $3.99. Here in Philly a yellow clown goes for around $10. If its a cool color like red or black its about $19-$25.

I agree! They are just so fat and cute... I've never seen a blue one in person. You should name him Icicle...
