I just got really lucky with my DT. I have a rectangular 23 gallon trash can I use with a pump for my top off water. It's a Project Source (Lowe's). I have Brute's for my RO water but I wanted one with a narrow profile because it fits in my space. I just finished filling it when I heard a faint sound of a leak. Here it just started leaking from underneath. If I wasn't there to stop it things would have been really bad tomorrow. Has anyone had problems with trash cans leaking? I guess it was just cheaply made. I don't know if Brute makes that size but I'm open to any other suggestions for a narrow container.

Trash cans aren't designed to be water-tight, so it's always a risk.

If you look for industrial products ($$$$), all dimensions are possible.

I see a lot of narrow recycling containers, for instance. Just don't toss your empties in there.

I use a cheapie trash can from Target for my top off water -- to fit behind DT in house nook.
No problems so far in over 3 years so wish me luck.
*can't imagine it ever leaking but mine was only about 16 gallons new, chopped down to about 12 gallons for height

Glad you were there to catch yours.

This is the ones I use:

Do you have a name or model number of that container? I tried to make the image larger, but I can’t see the writing.
Norwesco Plastic White Water Storage tank.

There are different sizes. You can get it from Lowes, Tractor Supply or internet sellers.
