Had this blue throat for a few weeks. The first or second day he injured his eye. I guess about 2 weeks ago. Like all bluethroats he is shy so catching him probably isn’t happening unless I go digging and disrupt my tank. Is there anything I can put in it’s good to help the eye heal? Or at the very least for a prophylaxis against infection such as an antibiotic. Something that won’t corrupt the water and hurt the system? I fed him some food soaked in metro for about 5 days but I’m thinking he may need something a little more powerful in the antibiotic realm. Any suggestions?

Best treatment in a separate tank is Maracyn 1 which is ethromyacin and very effective on eye injuries

Metro in food is pretty useless as a medication unless you calculate out the dose and get it to 5000 ppm by weight in the food. It is really bitter, so getting the fish to eat a full dose is a challenge and if they eat it, it isn't a full dose and won't do any good.

Many eye issues go away on their own, but as said, Erythromycin in a treatment tank works well.
The big risk will be if the other eye becomes involved. then they fish won't be able to see its food.
