So about 3.5 months in I'm still only needing to dose 4 ml per day to maintain 8 dkh which is well below the 2 ml / 26 gallons recommended as a baseline starting dose. My tank is 165 gallons and about 200 gallons system wide. This would mean I should be dosing closer to 15 ml per day according to guidelines. I understand every tank is different but this seems to be pretty far from the mark. Corals are all looking good, but not growing yet. ICP test confirms good water parameters. Can this very low alk consumption be indicative of anything being off or just maybe due to having relatively few corals for the tank size still?

I just went through your build thread. Great looking build and system. It doesn't look like you have a lot of corals that would be using up the Alk, Ca or Mg yet. Until you have some LPS and SPS I wouldn't expect much consumption. It looks like you are doing fine to me.

Okay cool. My thought as well but thought I'd double check. I've been holding back on coral as much as I can to let the tank mature but I think it's time to start loading it up now :)
