But what makes TMP better?
What do they add, or not add that makes the salt worth twice the price?
Will my corals be healthier and more colorful or more extension?
I would try it again if I knew what I was paying for, not just marketing.....
Is it possible that you don't see the crud because it's white and not tan like IO?Just saying I am not the only one. I never have to clean my mixing tank with tropic marin but io and rc all the time even if it is calcium carbonate like randy suggests why would I want to pay for something to just precipitate straight out while mixing. I personally think that it is waste of money if that is the case or it's just impurities in the salt either way I will stick with TM
Frustrated with salt mixes
I can't seem to win. My goal is to mix fresh salt water with ideal params and no brown sludge. I'm not finding much luck doing so with various salts. My goal is 400+ ca, 1400mag, and 9 alk Instant ocean- Mixes brown(-), 10alk(-) Fritz rpm- Mixes more brown than IO(2x-), 8.5-9alk(+) Tropic...www.reef2reef.com
Who pays $63 for a bucket of RC? I typically pay less than $40. This chart is a bit misleading.I get what you're saying but if you are using straight IO I will agree but if you are using RC not the case. For a couple extra cents rather have a better salt for the money
Not at all my friend, I understand the frustration, basically it sucks, I just have some faith Lou at tropic is speaking the truth, or else I’m going elsewhere alsoI hope you're not implying that I'm being untruthful. Each and every time I wanted to order this salt I had to wait for it to be available. That is no fabrication. I never said i had a problem with TMP itself. I found the salt itself to perform as advertised. I just had to sometimes delay water changes and that drove me to change to another salt. Look at the posts about the subject and I think you'll see building frustration in the community.
If you've not had any problem getting TMP that's great. Don't change. It hadn't been my experience, so I switched.
Nope don't see it cause it's not thereIs it possible that you don't see the crud because it's white and not tan like IO?
have you reached out to tropic Marin? He has plenty of it.I’m tired of the stress of not being able to get this salt and am ready to change brands. Looking for recommendations from those who have had success changing. What did you change to and how was the transition?
I reached out to Lou directly late last year to see if he knew of anyone who had any. I was basically told to keep searching online and that it was coming.have you reached out to tropic Marin? He has plenty of it.

Im sure this is a file photo
Do you think it comes with the broken tab??
i wouldn’t buy any salt with the tab broken
I have two buckets here from Petco.com and they were $71 each w/free ship on saleEspecially @ $69 for 200g
wholesale cost more than that
suspicious
It’s true even here in socal I’ve been to a few stores and they are either out or don’t carry it. Maybe some stores don’t carry it due to the price but he’s right the availability isn’t there unless you go to a few different stores just to find tmp.I hope you're not implying that I'm being untruthful. A couple of stores here said they have to wash their big mixing containers when they use Red Sea or fritz so they switched to tmp and not a problem. Is it possible that you don't see the crud because it's white and not tan like IO?
