Tropic Marin Regular Salt Mix

I like tropic Marin regular/classic..
I have never had a issue with it or Instant ocean. Pretty much the only two salt I have never had a bad batch of..
I Mainly use IO now because it is cheaper and easier to get especially local..
I do not need any of the amped up salts the extra elements does not make much a difference in the grand scheme of things anyway.
Stability is the the key...

I use pro and get a brown residue on pumps and in the mixing barrel. I assume it's something falling out of solution and it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I switched pumps a while back thinking it was that and it did not help.

The following pics are what I referred to regarding the Tropic Marin Pro.

The water shown in the Brute has been mixing since 5 AM and the picture of the tank is that of a WC not done in 8 days. I will clean it, remove 20g and add the newly made water but it will be cloudy for up to 30 minutes after I do the WC.

The T.M. Classic is always clear after the mix. argh.

This will be my last WC using the pro. I'm going back to classic.

If that is foam precipitates just under the water line in the brute can then yuck. I remembered battlecorals stated in a thread on here long ago that he has used classic for years. That stuck in my head and was glad I tried it. Mine comes UPS though, I don't have a vendor near my area.

It was just air bubbles...blew off but still not as clear as the classic. But was fine after about 30 minutes of being in the DT...still; I want it clear from the start which is not a given with the pro.

Ok. I had a product give me brown foam that stuck to the side. If that didn't get every test kit I owned out of the cupboard! I still test every batch of water after mixing from that pucker.

Yes, sir...I see how it could look like that, but there has been a bit of dark settlement and a bit around the rim of the container after mixing.

I swear the pro did not do this a couple of decades back. Hmmm?

Switched back to the 'Classic' and it is as clear as can be after only 15 minutes...no more of the 'Pro' for me. *argh

That bucket made it without getting speared by a forklift or thrown like a discus. I'll never enter a Petco again, but last time the imaginarium water was in plastic jugs, not bagged in cardboard. They need to donate or include one of those plastic ocean bracelets on each one now.

Actually no...lol

UPS reported the first one damaged, destroyed and disposed of. I advised the vendor (my go to) @MarineDepot ...they filed with UPS and 2 days later this bucket arrived pristinely. ;)

Just got a bucket of the regular Tropic Marin Regular (old packaging), was on TM Pro Reef for a year plus till the recent supply hiccup. I’m so regretting the “regular” TM. No matter how slowly I pour the salt to RODI water, it precipitates and the finished product is mildly cloudy even after 48 hrs. Never before I have issue with TM Reef Pro, which is crystal clear in 30mins regardless how fast I pour in the salt to the water.

After 24hrs with 2 powerheads.

Testing mixing 1L with magnetic stirrer with similar result.

Both my powerheads are caked with precipitate. The texture of regular salt is coarse to start with, compared with the TM Reef Pro which is a lot finer.

No sure if any other reefer shares the same issue.

To be fair, doesn’t look that clear to me, but from a 15 min mixing it is not surprising.

How long do you normally mix for?
