So I have mine for about a year and half now it’s been great. All of a sudden it won’t pump anymore. I have clean the eyes of the sensor. The pump seems to not turn on. I can spin the blades at bottom and it goes for a few seconds then stops. Do I just need a new pump?

Based on the photo, I think you just need a new pump, they usually last about 2-3 years, they do have a 2 year warranty.

Well the “good news” is that a replacement pump is around $24. Of course this might also be an excuse / reason to consider other options.

Ordered another one right away. I have thought about just dosing it the future though.

I switched to the 2 part, now switching over to triton ( what i originally set the tank up for) I just wanted to start everything right and balanced so i was dosing kalk, i didnt really have any corals, just fish at the time but again balance is key. That being said the kalk will work for a while until your uptake is more than you can dose with the ATO. If you decide to go that route with the tunze let me know, you can have this one, if you pay for the shipping and dont mind waiting for me to ship it. I've seen beautiful mixed reefs ran on kalk alone.
