I'm sharing this story from my wifes facebook page. it has everything to do with what we feel is the true meaning of Christmas. we helped out a local homeless man this weekend. all i can do is hope this story inspires others to help those who need it. within three days time we changed this mans life.

Tonight I took my daughters canning. A worn out looking man sat next to us. His eyes looked full of sadness. Naturally I asked him if everything was ok. He looked at me with tears in his eyes and said" it's so cold outside I just need to keep warm for a bit" at this point the tears are flowing out of his eyes. I grabbed him and gave him a long hug. He thanked me and began to tell me his story how he is homeless living in the woods and jobless. Clenching his $2 that he got from a young man outside. He looks and me and my daughters and says " this is the only money I have and I want to get a hamburger but I also want to give it to your daughters, do you have 50 cents so I can get a hamburger and give your daughter a dollar" I reach into my pocket and find 50 cents. I told him " get yourself a burger and fries" he thanked me and left. A few min later the man came back and have my daughter $1! My husband took the man to Kmart bought him a warm blanket, pillow, toothbrush, toothpaste, and gave him $20. A man who has nothing was willing to give his last $1 to a child. Let me add that my daughter Emma asked him " why do you not have a home" The man said " because I don't have any money" My 6yr old then opened her can and went to give him her money.

We had a wonderful person help him with clothes and a hotel room for two nights.

We were able to raise enough money to find him a room to rent so he can find a job and start a new life. He has been placed in a rehab as well as received the medical treatment he needed due to the condition he was in.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.
