I have been battling a Dino/cyano outbreak.
Decided to try 3 day black out. End of second day. Stupid question, do I feed the fish??

Thanks. Im on page 94 of the Vibrant thread. Trying to make heads or tails of this Dino issue. So far sounds like nothing can get rid of this scourge. Can anyone enlighten me?
Everything seemed fine until this algae (or dinos) started with some bubble algae, after popping the bubble algae the first time (mistake) I started to manually remove. Also, made the mistake of blowing off rock with turkey baster seemed the pieces of algae that didnt make it to filter sock ended up all over tank.
I dosed 1ml to 10gal of Vibrant on 12/16. repeated on 12/19 and covered the tank that same day.
Not sure what to do......do I feed fish in the dark?

I’m confused. Is it Dino’s or bubble algae.

IMO , vibrant is NOT something you should use if you are trying to cure Dino’s.

It blows off easily but comes right back.....
I also dosed sodium nitrate before I dosed Vibrant. My NO3 has always been undetectable since the original cycle.
First dose of Nitrate brought NO3 to 4ppm. Two days later NO3 1.5 dosed 1/2 of original dose of nitrate solution and dosed Vibrant again.
Covered tank.....thats it since wednesday morning.
Havent looked at tank since....well maybe peeked last night.
Corals and livestock had b een looking fine.

The vibrant will do two things.
It’ll lower nutrients, nitrates first.
It also has a substantial carbon dose. So that can feed what you have there directly.

If so what should I do next? Im reading and reading and trying to take everything in as well as teach my daughter what we are doing(when I am at a loss).
I just printed off a copy of getting rid of dinoflagellates by DR Tims Aquatics. It reads alot like the Vibrant thread, just different product.
Its a little dishearting when you try to do everything right and come up short.
Should I take the tankl out of blackout this evening its been 48hrs?

No, leave the Black out. When you uncover it siphon any thing you see.
What dr Tim say on dino? Probably pretty close to what I’m saying.
The trouble with vibrant , it’s not cut and dry.
I’ve read and even talked to dr t in person. It’s not complicated.

Ignore the hair and bubble algae for a bit, a good cuc can handle that later.
Read the dino thread posted above, stop carbon products, they're probably feeding it.
Mine was very bad, covering everything, I personally chose to kick up my nutrients via no3 & p04 dosing, LOTS of manual removal etc..
The dino basically went away, touch of cyano here and there, but the rocks took a beating in algae. I hired a few turbos and an urchin, little patience and it's turning around very well.
I think, lack if fish / foods/ nutrition and too much carbon dosing really affects this stuff.

Uncovered tank today most of dino/algae gone but, quite a bit more bubble algae.
Salinity 1.026
temp 78.6
Ph 7.93
NO3 4.5
PO4 .37
turned blue on for 1 hr, now have all light on.
Changed filter sock last night.
I noticed these little white cyst like things on glass, powerhead.
Picture is bad but, wonder if anyone knows what these are?

My lighting is back on ....blue for 7 hours, full spectrum for 5...is that enough for the corals I have?
Torch, trumpet, toadstool,GSP, hydnophora, monti cap, duncan and brain.
