plan on seeding the biological has anyone ever used tufa rock or know any down falls to using it as your biological in the sump.

I've used it many times without any issues.

I've even used it in displays. It becomes live rock very quickly. After all, it's ancient coral. Mine even has some coral fossilization and bivalve fossils in it.
