Thanks, I got the trim from Lowes - item 140852.

I installed a header directly above the tank before the sheet rock. I used a finish nailer to nail the trim into the header.
Thanks for the response. I looks like your trim has a lip on it, or did you do that? I dont see a lip on the moulding on that lowes item

I glued and clamped a lip on the trim to fill in the gap where the tank glass is slightly recessed behind the sheet rock.

I used weather stripping to fill in any variants left between the tank glass and lip.

I’ll take some close up pictures when I get home to give you a better idea.

Great build. Glad I found this thread and following from now on.
I would like to hear more about the sump set up.
What skimmer did you go with?

Thank you, I should have posted this before.

I’m running the Tunze 9430 DC.

This is the best skimmer I have owned. It is literally set and forget. Never overflows, always stable.

The half gallon collection cup becomes completely full every week.

I have no idea why these are not more popular and Roger @rvitko with Tunze gives excellent customer service.

This is a really incredible build, the cabinetry and overall construction is very well thought out.
