I'm checking to see if anyone has mounted their 3155 pump a floor below their tank. The Tunze manual shows it can pump up to 3.9M (154 in.) but will there be any issues extending the power cord for the pump that distance?

The length of the power cord is not quite, but almost immaterial.

However, at the 12' head, just how much water is being moved? The volume moved goes down as the head height goes up. At 4 meters it isn't moving any water at all.

Agreed, the distance it has to pump UP is of much more concern than the length of wire. You could add a 100 feet* of wire between the head and the pump and not run into any problems.

Mine doesn't reach pump in the basement and I just added on some extra wire, no big deal.

*Don't run 100 feet of wire if you can avoid it though. You'll start running into voltage drop issues eventually. Granted, that isn't likely to be a cause of concern until you're 100's of feet of wire. But an extra 10 or 20 or 30 feet, the pump won't even notice.
