Does the Tunze 5074 Calcium dispenser have to be submerged in a bucket?

I would like to dose kalk using the dispenser with a peristaltic dosing pump instead of my osmolator.
I would run in 5074 intake into an RODI reservoir and the output to my tank with the dosing pump pulling RODI water and pushing into the dispenser.

It is placed in the reservoir for safety, kalk is hard on tubing and plastic and degrades it overtime, especially the hoses become hard and may pop off.
