New pumps made in the last year have a much more sophisticated safety to protect the motor, anything from fine sand, a stiff fitting new drive unit or air in the pump will cause it to shut down. I would remove the drive unit, make sure everything is clean, swish it around in water or under slow running faucet but be careful to not loose the 6055.740 bushing as it can wash/fall out, black plastic side faces up. Try for a week or so running at a constant 80% to seat the drive unit.
