Just finished a tank transfer and added a sand bed I'm going through a decent bacterial bloom. I kind of anticipated this and had turbostart on hand which I dosed this afternoon with the skimmer off. I was curious if the skimmer being off is OK though oxygen wise?

I think it would depend on your bioload... and return pump turnover. Some people run skimmerless so in general, it should be ok if you have plenty of flow.

Mp40 runs 50% reef crest it's about to go to night mode though so about 25% and the return runs probably 400gph

Maybe increase your mp40 so theres more surface agitation during the night. (Take off night mode). Or just run the skimmer with the collection cup off.
