Ive been meaning to post a build thread here for a while. Well the servers are down at work so now is a better time than any.

Some of the rock is over 5 years old. I had a 10 gallon nano for 2 years and then upgraded. Getting ready to upgrade to a 40 breeder soon.

If i am honest the tank has been neglected for a few months. But now that I work from home it is getting tons of attention. (Yes you can clean your tank and listen on a conference call) =)

Equipment:

Filtration:
20 gallon display with a 20 gallon sump
Nano c remora skimmer(Would like to upgrade soon)
Santa Monica Upflow algae scrubber
Somatic Media reactor - (carbon and gfo)
Ball of chaeto
Flow:
Jebao pp4
Hydor Koralia 240(i think)
Lights:
AI 26hd
Ebay grow light for chaeto
Live Stock:

Coral:
Frogspawn
Euphyllia
GSP
Some algae covered zoas =(
leptastrea coral (I think)
Fish:
2 Clown fish (I have had one for 5 years the other for 3)
Algae blenny
CUC:
Pin cushion urchin
Bumble bee snails ( I think they ate vermatid snails)
2 Emerald crabs

Well I can honestly say, and I’ve said it many times on here, I just love green star polyp coral and it looks like you have loads!

And that clown fish looks very happy

Great pictures and great tank and thanks for sharing it with us!

Kind of bummed that you're upgrading soon. I think that would be such a neat contrast with the back wall totally covered in GSP and then you've got the 2 large frogspawn colonies sitting in front of it. Simple but lots of color.

Im tempted to leave this tank up. And tie it into the sump of the 40 breeder. Maybe make it a softy / lps tank and make the 40 sps. I would need a new light for 40 breeder... hmmm the wheels are turning now.

Cool beans! Looking forward to seeing pics of your new Frags. I always thought 20gl. long tanks were cool, and I like the idea of sharing a sump with the 40 gallon.

I had the big camera out to take pics of the kids for christmas card. Took a few pictures of the tank. Heres my favorite. Note the algae blenny on the left.

I got the new frags all mounted. I added two more rocks from the sump into the display. They are temporary until the 40 breeder gets set up.

I used aquamaxx Reef welder. It works pretty well. The putty smells awful so I bought this. There is no smell but you do need to melt it in hot water. I do wish i bought the purple instead of the white. It sticks out from the rock a little too much. But the coral will hopefully grow over it.

Another pic taken with the real camera.

Ran Nitrate and Phosphate tests today. The algae is coming back on the rock and sand after scrubbing it off. I think its gha but not sure.

Results:
Nitrate 5 ppm -Salifert
Phosphate 0 ppm - Hana Checker

Im guessing my nitrates are feeding it but they dont seem too high. I went to run my kalk, calcium and mag tests but they are all expired.... Time to hit up brs.

New FTS! (I took these with aquariclip and my pixel 3 xl) I pulled the algae covered rock on the left and remounted the frags. My Upflow scrubber has really started to take off so I think that will keep the algae at bay. Also a pic of my new powerhead I got for my 40 breeder.
