Here was my colony before cutting it as it grew into a large round softball

, now I have about 50 heads over several pieces that can grow out on many sides versus just the bottom that could grow on the first picture. I have grown out some really amazing pieces from the several colonies I have now that all came from the original piece from the bottom picture. I do miss the wow factor of a large colony but think in the long run sharing it and growing it out again is worth it for trades with others but have to admit I am my own best client as I keep many of my own frags, it is cheaper than buying them:)

Why would you guys frag them if they will just grow out more little ones? Won't you ruin the one you frag? Or will it grow back as nice as it was before you cut it in half?

Ok guys, I do see why you frag them now. But admit I would hate to ruin some of those you showed. I think I don't like the look of the ball so much. I would think I would cut the babies off and line them out to grow. 3 inches and slow growers is very attractive to me. Either way they are fabulous. I do believe I will have to look for one.

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Hope to be able to show off one of my own some day.

Shot in the dark here. Corals like these are all right place right time and who you know. I've been searching for a Master Bower for a while now. Been Reefing since '04 so a while is a while lol I just recently set up my dream tank. Its a Waterbox 230.6. I gotta get a build thread up for it soon but its definitely a sight to behold and have lots of room for higher end corals! Anywho, just wanted to reach out and see if you have any of the most beautiful Bowerbankis I have ever seen a hobbyist have in frag form?? 😇
