I found this on some live rock (not in my tank). It strongly resembles an underwater tick.

Eww.

My best guess is bristleworm segment. I didn't touch it to find out. Does anyone have any idea what this thing might be?

Wow how big is it? That is a crazy photo! LOL!

It was about 3/8" long (I think, hard to tell front from rear). Kinda crawled along.

Ugly thing, blech.

Of course, the best picture I have ever taken would have to be of something like that :squigglemouth:

It's a bristleworm segment.

Ugly little thing. I sure wouldnt want to touch it those spines look sharp.
The spines don't hurt. But they do itch and will blister up after a couple of days.

Ok, cool. I never realized bristleworms looked so WEIRD up close. *shudder*

Sure glad they aren't any bigger than they are.

Bob Fenner also id'ed as a bw segment. I turned it loose in my sump, since I have plenty of bristleworms in my tanks.

I do find it kinda pretty. Now if I could just take pictures of my zoas with that much detail :squigglemouth:
