I haven't seen many people talk about this subject so I figured I would post it. There isn't much worse then spending countless hours on a tank setup making sure the glass for your sump is cut perfect and your overflow box teeth are exact to have it hindered by unsightly silcon. This is not my idea and I forget who I copied it from. Maybe on a Construction sight or diy TV. But you should tape your silicon edges. Mark where u want the baffle etc. To meet and put a piece of masking tape roughly 1/4" away. Then after you are happy with the look and before it sets up pull the tape off.
