Hello,

I have noticed my favia has started to develop white rings around the inner polyps over the course of the last 4 months. If I look back at photos I notice it is happening gradually over time. It definitely is showing signs of overall growth as it has attached to the rock off of the frag, but I cannot find any posts with this white "halo" effect.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this and it is a sign of new tissue growth or something more ominous, like too much light or some type of necrosis.

Parameters:
Salinity: 1.025
Nitrates 10 - 15 PPM
Alk - 8.5
Calcium - 400
Ph - 8.15
Unknown Par on lights
Flow - indirect flow

I don’t think you have too much light.
Wow those look like some Nat Geo photos right there, makes my favia look like dollar store favia lol. Thanks for sharing!
