Well, four days later and it looks like I've stopped it from spreading. Mounted the colony back on the rock again. :)

any update on this? I have a piece that has a little recession on the bottom from my alk getting a little high when I was on vacation and I want to do something similar to this except unfortunately like you, mine is encrusted on the rock too.

So almost three weeks later I have no further RTN on the colony and remounted it in a different location. It's doing well. I was nervous about how to get it off the rock, but I just decided I had to try or I was going to lose the whole piece. Good luck with yours.

Hey sorry to bring up an old post but I am having similar problem that you went through. Did the rtn completely stopped after crazy glued it? Thx

Yes, the RTN was stopped. However, I re-mounted it in another position and it didn't like it very much. It slowly deteriorated over the next 6 mos. I eventually culled it.
