So I leave tomorrow on an unexpected vacation for 5 days, that’s not the issue lol.

My new tank has been ruining for 13 days total, 11 of them are with live stock. My ammonia today was .05 with a Hannah checker, not checking nitrites and my nitrates were .05 also with a Hannah checker. The cycle has been going smooth, I peaked with my ammonia at .26, part of this is I think because I dark cycled some rock for two weeks prior to getting this tank up and running.

My real questions is, should I run my UV while I am gone? The light has not been on but have been running water through it. I have diatoms forming all over the place, and my cuc is doing the best it can but can’t keep up with this size tank. All of them and any my fish came from an old tank.

No.

Get someone to monitor the tank though.
