Thanks so much guys!! The build was a good 9month+ project with another two years planning before that as I learned with my first reef tanks. It's hit roughly 9mos running so I can finally start filling in the sps portions!! it's so cool to be able to share the process with people that really understand the effort that goes into every little detail. Some how non-reefers just don't quite he it lol. Maybe it will inspire more people to think out of the box when setting up a new tank.

While I had the old tanks removed I took the opportunity to pull my carpet and paint the wood floor (just for funzies). Then I framed out the area the tank would be placed, brought up the lights and eventually got everything in place.
Some notes

To ensure the top of the stand was exactly the right size for the drop-off the top of the stand was auctually built first. The tank was formed and cured right on top of that piece to ensure an exact match.

Setting the lights in place was achieved by installing two hoists. It was a pain but manageable.

I was cleaning my ats today and realized I had never posted when I upgraded it etc. Here's the outside and inside after cleaning. The mesh sheets are 24" by 6". I basically added more sheets for better stability due to more surface area.

I also did some normal sump maintenance today. As the reefers following know my bottom portion is kind of a mash up of filter, frag tank, and r&r fuge for things I want to watch before adding to the main system. It's also a dt while I'm working late in the shop
I did some algae wipe down etc so here's some pics. Clams are doing really well, the dursa has taken off and the baby maxima is definitely growing. Xenia is filling a section and GSP are covering the rock I added them to. I'll have to post some dt pics when I'm upstairs later.
Last month was the one year anniversary of having this tank fully functional.
You'll also see the fake rocks in my sump that are getting ready for my pico build... Getting very excited for that tank too

I haven't updated in forever so here are a few pics of progress. Quite frankly nothing much has changed, I added more coral and watched everything growing in. The biggest change I've made in the last year is that I've added ozone to the system. I know that ozone isn't for everyone but since this tank has a slow turn over and no real mechanical filtration there is a noticeable change in clarity (lower disolved organics) and a noticeable positive response in coral looking more open and bright.

I was just going through pictures.. sometimes it's hard to tell how much progress is achieved when we look at our reefs everyday. I'm also very happy that when I look back to 2019 many of the same coral, fish, and inverts are still alive and well.
