Are you referring to something like this picture?
I have black mollies in a freshwater tank and they have orange marks on the tail tips like the above picture, especially the males. I think this is pretty common.

Hi All
Just curious if anyone has ever seen a solid black molly with orange on just the tip of his tail? I found him recently at my LFS.

Now I'm going to have to wonder across the aisle at my LFS and look at freshwater side (where the mollies live... even though they can go brackish/salt)
