They are cutting the power to my dorm from 9:30am to 5:30pm for repairs on 3/18, during my spring break. I will be out of town, and so will all the other students in my building.
I have a battery powered airstone already set up. It will automatically trigger when it loses power and it is advertised to last for 12 hours on a charge at max speed, so I think I have oxygenation covered.
I'm a little concerned about temperature though. I'm in St. Petersburg Florida and the high is 75, but my dorm gets a lot of direct sunlight. I'll be closing the blinds. Normally I'd just add bags of ice if it gets too warm, but I won't be there. Any suggestions for how to control temps?
Anything else I should do to prepare?
The tank is a 20 gallon all in one mixed reef. I have it pretty heavily stocked with a yasha goby, two clownfish, a tailspot blenny, pistol shrimp, skunk cleaner shrimp, and captive bred mandarin from biota. I also have a bubble tip anemone, some rock flower anemones and lots of LPS, some zoas and clove/star polyps, and a couple SPS colonies.
