Upgraded from 29g to 33g today!

Pulled the trigger on a 33g AIO by hello reef yesterday. Lots of buckets and moving things around later, and I could not be happier with the setup. Finally, no more sketchy 29g on an ikea dresser with HOB filters and cables everywhere.

Any general AIO advice?

Extoll the virtues of keeping a nice AIO like that 'simple'. "Filter floss" can be great because in an AIO is so easy to just pluck out. (Tank is looking great, by the way.)

Thank you! Probably introduce a little more dry rock to build up the scape in the front right. Woke up this morning to the sand all being pushed out of that corner, so something to break up the current at the bottom a little.

Also, a snail escaped this morning! Found him on the floor. Put him back in and he went back to business, so maybe a mesh lid next!

Other than that, a few more small fish and some more coral.

Filter floss in place of the filter socks? Just cut to size and throw in? Not a bad idea.

Currently, the filter socks pass through this rectangular bracket that stops the flow from passing around it. Problem is, it’s not cut to size properly, so water just barely goes into the sock and mostly goes around it through a small gap.

Foam padding might be a good alternative, or maybe adding a rubber seal to the sides to keep water actually passing through the filter socks so they can do their job lol

This is my cheap go-to. One long sheet-- cut or rip to size, as needed. Pretty dense-- lasts long, works well.
