Hey reefers!

I really need your help with transferring my current fluval marine evo 13.5 gallon nano into my Red Sea g2 nano peninsula. Basically my fluval has been running great for a little over a year now. I just picked up the Red Sea peninsula and I’m going to add sand and salt water today. My plan is to move everything from my fluval (rock, media, and about 5 gallons of the SW) into the peninsula this weekend. In the fluval I have 2 clowns, and a fire shrimp so not a huge bioload. I’m thinking that because my rock already has the beneficial bacteria and I’m moving everything over the same day, I don’t need to cycle the new tank. Also, I’m not moving the sand from the fluval, I’ll be adding new sand to the peninsula.

Do you all think I’ll be ok just moving everything over to the peninsula, or do I need to cycle the new tank?

Appreciate any feedback from you all!

If it were me, I would get the new tank set up as you described, but I would move the live rock there as soon as it was running and up to temp... With only two clowns and a shrimp, I'd think they'd be fine in the old tank w/o rock.

You could do this for a couple days and test parameters, but you should be fine just moving everything over.

Rinse the new sand to minimize cloudiness.
