I am thinking of upgrading from an established 65g currently in its third year, to a 95g tank. The 95 gallon is the largest i can fit in my living room without a complete re-arrangement of furniture.

Is it really worth it for that extra foot of volume? my tank is currently successful and healthy and i'm wondering if its going to be worth upsetting something that's not broken just for the next size up? Should i just wait until maybe a house move or something in the future comes along which allows me to upgrade to a 125g or more?

Has anyone upgraded just 1 foot and was it worth it?

If you are looking to get into tangs or bigger fish it would be worth it to wait imo until you can do a 6' tank.

I don't think you would regret the 95g per se but you will be wanting to upgrade again imo before too long again. If you wanted to do something new maybe get a small second tank you can make an anemone tank or something to hold you over.
