Ok so I ordered a light fixture and a hanging kit. They shipped for Stafford Texas on Thursday. UPS map shows 3 days and it should be delivered. Light goes from Stafford, to houston and to Dallas , Friday morning shows left Dallas at 12:35 AM. Now nothing. UPS says well we have til Wednesday. Wanna hear the funny thing hanging kit was set USPS and got here Friday afternoon. ONE DAY FREIGHT!!! So I explain to the guy from UPS on the phone, it takes 22 hours to drive from from Texas to Ohio. So even with your driver stopper per the rules of Freight (I think its drive 11 sleep 8) That package should have been in columbus yesterday and then out for delivery today. His reply, well my computer shows me the same thing you see. I have had it with UPS. Im contacting the company I got the light from since I paid for "express shipping" which means it should have been here by today. Now granted there could just be a hicup in the tracking system and it is on a truck headed for my place (highly doubt it) however I just dont get how UPS can charge so much for shipping and not get anything on time , however usps charges very little and gets stuff right everytime.

GRRRRR I HATE MONDAYS!!!!

Sucks to hear, hopefully you get your stuff. My preferred shipping carriers ranked

#1 FedEx
#2 USPS
#3 UPS

Ups always gets here late, mishandles and destroys my packages, charges an arm and a leg, will leave notes on door without knocking (when I'm home), and all around not very good in my area.

My mailman gets lazy an doesn't deliver to my house sometimes, strange he will kid skip my house...found this out when I was waiting on a package and it didn't get delivered. Tracking said note left, there was no note and when i called post office after hours my mail was sitting rubber banded separated from the rest. Every once and a while, I will have bills or letters to be shipped out in my mailbox and they wont be picked up for like three days.

FedEx messed up and delivered my coral to a military outpost once, thy worked with me to quickly get it back and bring it back to me within a couple hours. They even called the place it was delivered and asked for it to be air conditioned.

I understand that handling as many packages as these carriers do, mistakes happen. It is how well they work with me to correct their mistake that makes me like them or not.

that does suck, ups is weird, for me my item arrived at my local post office, so Im thinking cool i'll get it today or tomorrow, wrong, check the tracking and it went back to Atlanta (which is about 300 miles away from me) then back to me took an extra 3 days, i was made. I called ups and they said that's just how it goes sometimes.

i just hate that they scan every package and in detail show what truck its on. How hard is it to check the tracker on the truck to find out where it is you know. I know they can do this I use to work there. LOL

USPS is worst for me.

I had alight leave California last Saturday. it was scanned in transit in California Monday last week with expected delivery of Saturday the 17th. nothing showed. in checking tracking, there is no activity since last Monday when it left California. Glad I have insurance on it, but jeez...

Oh and it still shows scheduled delivery day of the 17th! Un, Loser Govt worker, Today is now the 19th. where is my stuff!

UPS and FedEx are always good to me.

Oh and Wife had a package via USPS leave a facilty about an hour from us (In TN mind you) on a thursday, go all the way to atlanta and sit for the weekend only to come back to us tuesday.

I stopped using UPS a Long Time Ago!! FedEx is all I use for Corals anymore. Usps hasnt been bad either but FedEx is the best IMO.

Its finally out for delivery today, 5 days and it should have only taken three. My biggest problem is UPS will tell you nothing more then its in transit and is meeting the delivery estimate.

There are horror stories about every carrier out there, no matter which one. I've had USPS take 7 days to deliver a light from Austin, Texas to my house (142 miles). FedEx decided to just blow through town with my box containing $1000 worth of corals. I resorted to phone harrassment of the local hub. Driver called and admitted that he didn't stop, just marked it "delivery exception" and kept going. His superior ordered him to turn around and come back, immediately. UPS is the only carrier I don't have trouble with, but that's only because I live in a very small town and know the driver personally. He always takes good care of my boxes.

The point is, for every carrier, someone has had a bad experience. Sometimes, they ALL suck.

I use fedex for all my coral deliveries and have had only one problem. a few weeks a go i dropped a box off and expected it to be overnight. The next day i get a txt from the guy it was going to wondering where it is. so we both check tracking and it show it is still in pittsburgh. fast forward a few weeks and tracking still shows it is in pittsburgh lol. They totally lost the package. I just got the claim check yesterday, so its like i sold some coral to fedex.

Just one helpful hint. even if they lose your box do not say it had coral in it. but you can say they were aqaurium decorations  even with losing a box i had to fight and fight because of there no live animal policy in the end i got the shipping money back and the price of the coral as a "good will" refund they called it lol

i used to use ups and would have about 1 in 3 boxes show up damaged so never again with them

bob

You wanna know whats even funnier. Ship 1 small box UPS overnight and it cost $60, Ship 2 boxes with 25 fish and 20 corals and have them flown in same day and its $72 and thats from california to ohio.

I LOVE my UPS guy! He always carries my packages to the door right side up and gently sets them down (I have cameras :)!) I like Fed-Ex customer service but can't stand the driver in my area. After telling him he lost my fragile package of coral he went to his truck and literally threw packages in the air looking for it!
