Urchin questions

I'm not sure if this is the right thread so sorry if its the wrong spot...
But I have a pin cushin urchin and he's dragging around abunch of algae and sand all tangled up on him..... should I try to clean him? Is it even safe to touch him? Or just let it go and let it work loose on its own...

Are you sure its not a tux ? They will have all kinds of stuff attached. If so leave him be. If you decide to clean him please send some pics.lol

Its normal. They are kinda like a decorator crab. They will wonder around the tank with crap stuck to them.
