Well,
Against the advice of my friend who has an urchin that carries stuff EVERYWHERE around her tank, I was having some hair algae issues, and got a rose urchin. He has already unglued one of my corals and carried it around! HAHA!!
I think its kind of cute :) Anyway - he is leaving a white trail everywhere he goes . . . are my rocks that dirty, and he is THAT good of a cleaner? Or something I should be concerned about?

They really clean down to the bare surface of rock as they move. I will be picking up another urchin soon. My last one lived for three years. Enjoy.

Not sure regarding the white stuff, however my two urchin are fantastic cleaners, hard one of them for over a year.

I know this an old thread, but is the white trail clean rocks or poo? I'm having the same issue. I turn the white lights on and it mostly disappears..
