Good morning and Merry Christmas eve...eve
i am considering dosing Kalwasser as well as All for Reef at the same time. I know that they both add alk and calcium, I mainly want to use kalk to up my pH. It is always between 7.8 - 8.0. I am aiming for 8.2 - 8.3. I do have a Co2 scrubber attached to my skimmer but my skim
mer is small and I have a 40 Gal AIO

Anyone else try this? what happened when you did?

The pH effect of kalk (or any hydroxide dosing) is partly determined by how much you dose. If you do not dose much, you won’t see much effect. If you won’t be dosing at least about 1 dKH per day of alk from it, I would not expect to see a significant boost to pH

I dose both if I need to. I have my Kalkwasser making up most if not all of my evaporation rate and stops when pH reaches above 8.2. I dose All for Reef to keep alk around 9 as needed. On and off is controlled by my Hydros controller.

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
