Looking for advice on the best way to plumb this UV sterilizer in my tank. I have such a small space in my cabinet (now I see why people have their plumbing in another room), that it would be a squeeze, to say the least. I have also seen info saying mounting it on the exterior and running the feeds in and out of the tank is the most effective way to cycle all of the water through it, but I don't want ugly plumbing on the side of the tank.

What do y'all think of mounting it on the back of the canopy, with the input on one side of the tank and return on the other? Separate pump, of course, than main return pump. It perfectly fits these inexpensive hooks I have to store my pool equipment, and they would be easy to hang on the back. Sadly, there isn't enough room between the tank and the wall to put it at stand level. The canopy can be slid back and forth and even taken down completely, if necessary.

I have two tangs, and will be running it at the slower rate in an attempt to reduce free-floating pests.

Thanks in advance for your input. Pics of your UV setup would be greatly appreciated. (And, yes, I know I risk death by the shop light over my sump. I put everything on GFCI just in case.)

That is a big one. I use the “set it there” method for my UV.
Might want to switch to Sticky tape LEDs. They are super easy to install.

Should be no problem mounting it behind the canopy. But you are feeding it directly from/to the tank? Where will you put the pump in that case?

I ended up mounting it inside the stand after all for this reason. I haven't plumbed it yet. That should be an "interesting" time. lol
