Hey all,
I'm in need of some help. I have a Reefer 250 with a dino issue. I bought 25 Watt Classic UV Sterilizer - Black Body - Aqua Ultraviolet.. What i would like to do is come off my return pump then from there go through the pvc that's installed by Redsea.. My return pump is big enough to handle the flow needed, my question is has anyone installed this on a Reefer 250? I'm trying to figure out how to lay it out. any help would be amazing!

I'd need to see a shot of your whole cabinet, but three options come to mind:
1. Mount horizontally from the top of the cabinet.
2. Mount horizontally from the main overflow return.
3. Mount horizontally hanging off the side of the ATO.

A 170, not a 250 but maybe this can help. It's a 15w AquaUV. Horizontal isn't required but recommended, I have to turn UV off if pump off for more than 30 min (which it really never is so hasn't been a worry for me in the year plus I've run it).

And yes, just tied up in place with string...temporarily...a year ago. I did move the UV to the left since this pic so it's not over the sump. Didn't have confidence at first something wasn't going to leak. After several months the possibility of water hitting the connector over rode any leak concerns and it's never leaked a drop.

Good luck.

Found a more recent pic (replaced my skimmer with an ATS).

this is the best I was able to do on my Reefer 250. It’s the Aqua UV 15 watt. A bit bootleg but it works fine since the barbs are opposite of one another.

in your case you may need to get a 2nd pump and sit the UV next to your sump on the floor OR create a manifold off of your return pump to feed it.
