Sorry if this is not the place but I want to get a valentini puffer. I've heard its not reef safe. I have GSP, A BTA, a green galaxea, a grape coral, and a candy cane. One emerald crab and a blue leg hermit crab. Would this puffer be ok with these softer corals? I've had one before but not when if had corals too.

Had one for years and never bothered anything in a mixed reef with the exception of an occasional nip at a hermit shell. I'd only worry about small inverts like sexy shrimp. Awesome fish BTW. Hardy, and so much personality.

They are cool and they definitely add character to the tank. I have one and have had him for about two months. But he pecks at the coral. He killed one of my frogspawns and has eaten two hermits and three snails and my emerald crab. I feed my fish every day with frozen shrimp and plankton so I don't think it's because he is hungry but I dunno. Just be cautious

Loved mine till he went carpet missing 3 weeks ago. Only messed with my acans, but got rid of every vermitid snail in my tank. He was found today during a tank tear down all dried out, oddly, all puffed up too.

My six year old asked if he died scared because puffers only puff up when theyre scared. It was sad but cute question.

What are you all feeding them and how ? I've had a valentini for about 3 weeks and haven't seen him eat a thing ! Just picks at the rock all day and hasn't gone after coral, yet.

Mine eats mysis shrimp and New Life Spectrum pellets. He's competing with some fast feeders so I have to make sure he gets his fair share though.
