My Valentini puffer died a couple days ago. I'm afraid it may have put toxins in the water. I'm going to do a 50 percent water change. Should I be worried about my rocks and sand?

You don't need to worry about puffer toxins unless you try to eat it. If you are worried, just run carbon, but believe me, it didn't contaminate your water.

Certain Puffers can release toxins into the water at death, but I don't believe the Valentini is one of them.

Thanks for easing my mind guys

Can you link to an occurance? Boxfish and trunkfish can, but that is rare. I would be dubious of that happening with puffers, since the tetradotoxin is internal and associated with the liver.
