Hey all,

Does anyone know or have a conversion to how much more flow I will get from 3/4” pipe to 1”?

I piped my manifold with a separate varios 4. I have a UV with an estimated 200gph going through it. My bio pellet reactor and carbon reactor. I reduced to use 3/4” piping but I have a separate xs reactor for purigen and want to add one more for GFO when necessary.

My issue is I do not want to run the pump 100% capacity but I feel like at 75% I have enough flow now for the UV and 2 reactors but a 3rd will reduce to where I either need to increase possibly pipe size or upsize the pump to a 6.

Repiping is far cheaper. So, with that said if I use 1” will it help drastically? Or just bite the bullet and get the 6? My sump as shown.

-Thanks!

By the pump head curve, you are only going to get a total of about 400-500 gph at 6-8 ft of backpressure. I am assuming 4 ft of elevation and 2-4 ft of friction loss. Not sure how much flow you want, but you probably need to upgrade or use a different pump for the manifold and the return. With the proper head, you should get about 600-800 gph with 1" pipe versus 300-400 with 3/4".
