i guess it should be an emergency but I have extra heater and pumps going in DT and each section of sump until I get a new return. So my Vectra L1 is about one year old and it seems to be a paper weigh now. Looks like some melted plastic in shaft? Anyways I’m in need of a new return, basement sump 7’ head, 125g DT, 125 sump. I’m about to buy cheap pumps off amazon in hopes they last a year I’ll be happy since they are about 1/4 of the price tag then the $500 L1.
What do you all recommend for a high flow submersible pump?

You need to get in touch with Ecotech.
I've had stuff replaced that was out of warranty as many others have.
The problem with the L1's is known to them.
Call them.

I tried. It sucks that it’s sunday. I thought I did my researched before buying return. Seems like it always happens after I buy things is when I end up reading the negatives about something.

There was a known design problem with the L1 (primarily) that as I understood resulted in overheating and deformation of the impellar/volute chamber. There was a running design change to enable better water cooling and thus avoid the melting. Thought that was done more than a year ago though. Agree that a chat with ETM is warranted.

Yah they are sending out a replacement. I hope this one lasts longer. I’m just glad I do have extra random small pumps and heaters around to keep water warm and moving in each section of sump and DT

I ordered this and it came in today and I just got it all hooked up and running again. I must say this pump is a beast. And now I will have a back up pump on hand
