I got the RD3 in December, it is BOSS! Love it, great flow and built like a tank. That's what I'd recommend but all 3 options are quality pumps which I've heard great things about. But if you got the cash go with the RD3, it's in a league of its own (except for Abyzz pumps of course)! You won't regret it

Good to know!
I wasn't trying to be spiteful or anything. I just posted that because when I opened the box up I had to laugh.
This pump ( from DRF&S ) had a date on it from 4/19/16. I swear I had to buy the holder for my first M1.

Didn't take it like that at all. Im glad you shared it. To my knowledge it was not included, maybe you got lucky and one slipped inside your box :)

Lucky!! What's inside the big box?? I wish I lived close....they charged me $25 (!!) for shipping just for the RD3 and they are right here in the U.S.! Since you were there, do you know if they sell more products than what is currently on their website? I ask bc there are several little items and add-ons (that I'd love to add to my RE Dreambox) that are listed on the main RoyalExclusiv site but several things are missing from the RoyalExclusiv US site.

Top box is the RD3 80w and big box on the bottom is a BK Double Cone 180 w/ RD3 50w. They stock pretty much everything from Royal... They have dream boxes, skimmers, pumps, spare parts, reactors, controller mounts and many other things. If you are looking for something specific your best bet is to give them a call.

What every you do, stay away from Eco-Tech pumps, I gone through 3 of them in 1 year and a half.
Also, I maintained them the proper way every 3 months, they were cleaned in 2 part solution.
If you can afford it go with either the RED DRAGON OR THE ABYZZ.

I can't speak for Eco-tech (haven't tried their return pump), but will vouch for my RE Red Dragon mini. Have had no problems and amazing power/flow. Def worth the investment and highly recommend.

@gettaReef - I would love to buy one of these RED DRAGONS on my 150. Do you think that's enough flow on the RE RD MINI 50(W)
or would I have to go with the model above it Red Dragon mini 3 speed 80w DC Pump for $779.00?
Instead of settling for the Reef Octo Various 8, I think I might just save a little money and grab one of the best pumps on the market which is the one I have attached. ALso, since Spears does not make a fitting for this pump to be hard plumbed what fitting did you use?

I have a Varios-6 and super pleased with it. Best things is has more features than the Vectra and cost less. Quiet, slow start up, APEX ready out of box!(just need cord), well built, DC, feed modes, variable speeds, built in float switch device, cool intake screen, easy disassembly, large impeller, large ceramic bearings, box includes several output fittings, separate control and power. I needed a APEX ready pump and don't like the wavelike quality and the Vectra needed a separate additional APEX module. This way my pump is programmed to slow on my APEX feed mode with one button push. Love the pump, I highly recommend it.

Just bought the Reef Octopus VarioS-8 Controllable DC pump for my 150
