Which is better for a 40g breeder. A Radion Generation 1 or a AI Vega Color? I will be doing mostly LPS and Zoas, maybe a few SPS.

Thanks,
Chad

I'm in the same boat. Leaning towards a Radion Gen 2, if I can find one for the right price :)

I dont think you can go wrong either way. Im still partial to the Radion Ive had the chance to play with the Vega and its a really nice light for sure.

The nice thing that I read about the Vega's is that soon they will give you the option to order various pucks in any light combination you want. I was thinking that was a nice benefit. The Gen 2 is nice but would you take the Gen 1 over the Vega? I can buy a brand new in the box Vega Color, Hanging Kit and Controller for $450 or a Radion Generation 1 with TIR lens upgrade used for about 4 months for $475. Any suggestions?

That's a tough call. That pricing on the Vega might swing me back.

If they have any extra Vegas at that price, let me know!

I think both lights are fantastic, and to me it would come down to which one you can get a better deal on.

I have the Radion on my 50 gallon lps/sps tank and I love it.

Where can you get the Vega kit for $450? I'm looking to switch from my Maxspect To the Vega.

We have both on different tanks and really they are both very nice and work well. I must admit I like the simple wireless controller with the vega and the changeable pucks. For us the Radion was gen 1 more expensive and of course gen 2 is worse, I think it might be like paying for the name a little bit verses the vegas by AI

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
