Saw this cute little orange slug in the live rock tank at a LFS.

Final image is the only thing that looked vaguely the same color near by (don't know what it is), I don't have any evidence that it eats whatever this orangey-yellow stuff is but I know some slugs look like their prey.

Coloration makes me think nudibranch but the leafy body plan reminds me of Elysia lettuce slugs. It was a little less than a centimeter I think. Unfortunately I don't know where the live rock came from.

I'd guess an Elysia sp., possibly E. flava or E. obtusa.

Some might suggest Vayssierea felis, but - doing a bit more research into those guys - V. felis shouldn't have the leafy body plan you mentioned (they should look like traditional slugs/nudibranchs).

I think there's a good chance you're right! Its body looked like a leaf with wavy edges folded up in a taco shape, which seems to be pretty similar to those two species.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
