So I am on day 10 of the vodka dosing my systems and by George, I think it's working. You can see in the 1st photo how nasty and thick the brown algae was on my egg crate. In the 2nd and 3rd picks are a few days after I started and it appears that the algae is choking out which is exactly what I had hoped for. In some areas I can now see a green calcified looking algae like a coralene growing and where this is there is no brown gunk. I am going to continue the dosing as it appears to be providing the results I was hoping for. In addition the corals are looking great. I had several corals that were closing up and not looking good at all. I had all but counted them out. Now they are open all the way and looking great. They are either happy or drunk....maybe both. Anyways just wanted you to hear of my results so far.

Great pics. Looks like the vodka is working for sure.
Could you please share some specifics, for example:
Are you using the complete VSV method or just vodka?
-What kind of vodka is it?
What is the total gallons of the system?
How much of the vodka are you dosing?
How do you dose it?
Where do you dose it?
What time of the day do you dose, and how often?
Thanks a punch

Here is the link to the site that I used.

Vodka Dosing by 'Genetics' and 'Stony_Corals' - Reefkeeping.com

I use a syringe and feed it into the overflow. I dose everyday at noon. And each of my 4 systems are 600 gallons each. Therefore I am dosing off the reccomended specs for my system(see the link). I am using 100proof "Superior" brand Vodka. It's the cheap stuff but 100 proof. Im just following their directions.

Lookin' good.

Probably get my answers once I visit the link, but is this something you would suggest doing from day one?
Thanks by the way for the killer info.!
