Nice healthy lion, man. That body is tall and thick.

Do you have any guesses on size, from then until now?

Whoa I just noticed the size difference in one year after reading your question. Definitely following for the response!

More pics, probably 1” body when I first got him. I was pretty worried that Tess the Moray was going to try to eat him.

He’s probably 6” now and much larger mass wise.

Missed Joel’s Bday by one day, couldn’t have been more than a few weeks old when I got him.

Wow! That's after just one year? He was so tiny looking. I have never seen one that young/small. He's looking great! Congrats and happy belated b-day to Joel. :-)

I am very surprised the jeweled didn't eat him. Did you raise the jeweled from a pup.

Yes she has eaten a few damsels but does alright with tankmates I am sure the spines of Lion helped protect him during the first few months, he

This is a week after I got her. Has grown quite a bit!

Actually already a good size, your situation is definitely a rarity as I have seen these eels kill lions even larger than yours at 366 days.

Yes! I love porky! He is such a wonderful active fish. I also just went scuba diving at Key Largo and saw loads of them!

He is the only one in the tank, I wish I would have gotten him a buddy initially but he has become aggressive with other fish so I am not sure he would adjust to another. He does seem to be fine by himself but that’s hard to tell with a fish, basically eating very well!

the aquarium is a 48x36x21 150 approx , uses the entire aquarium for sure I’m hoping he Maxes around 6-8”

Oh wow, ya she does not bother her tank mates anymore, like I said ate a few damsels right away but has been well behaved since.
