Has anyone NOT used the sticky tab and zip tie and had a problem? I HATE the white area that shows up when looking at my tank. I'm considering taking the risk of removing it.

I don't but it really depends on the width of the glass and how strong the magnetic attractions are.

Well if the wet side falls off, without the cord attachment, the dry side would bounce on the floor. Say for instance a snail decides to wedge himself in your wet side...
