I have 2 wall hammer head corals (green tip and pink tip). Both did a polyp bail out a few weeks apart. This happened about 3 months ago and the both polyps are still thriving in my tank. I was told that they would die off in 1-2months but they are still alive and growing slowly 3 months later. Can they survive without a skeleton? If they can, are they going to develop a new skeleton? Right now they are sitting in a corner of my tank just off a live rock but as fish swim by or when I do some cleaning they start to float around which sometimes makes it harder to clean.
