I would like to add a ruby red dragonet to my tank. I currently have two captive bred mandarins that eat tdo pellets. Do you think adding a ruby red dragonet would be fine or will they fight??

How big is the tank? also what other fish do you have?

Red reefer 200xl.
I have 2 yellow head jawfish
2 mandarins
1 yasha goby

That should be fine. Just make sure there is PLENTY of hiding spaces and you make sure everyone is eating.

From what my LFS indicated, the Mandarins will kill the Ruby Red.

Ended up adding a ruby red. He is doing fine and started eating TDO pellets (just like the mandarins) on his second day with me. So far no aggression against him. Will get him a her soon.

They'll be totally fine :) Only when you add two of the same gender and color (two ruby red males, two green mandarin males) do you run into issues. I actually made a video of when I added two to my tank. Both Males. Check it out :)
