A while back I was sold what’s known as a Pearlberry Acro. As it’s finally taken off I’m having serious doubts. Has this happened to anyone else. I’m in no way blaming the vendor btw. It’s still becoming a nice piece and it was bought on an auction so I didn’t spend no where near full price.

It came to me looking exactly like this.

But later turned into this.

If this isn’t a Pearlberry, then what is it?

Looks like a blue enchinata coral to me

I got a frag of the same coral from the same vendor. I'm having big doubts about it being legit Pearlberry as well. This is the frag I received and I'll try to get a new pic tomorrow. It's grown out a fair amount.

Let me guess, poto? If so, that’s exactly why I don’t buy anything from that guy!

Lol those are not even close to being Pearlberries.... what a crap vendor!

They could probably argue that it wasn't labeled as ORA Pearlberry so nothing was misrepresented, but I think it's safe to say that if people see a frag labeled as Pearlberry they're going to assume it's legit ORA.

True!

It could just be your tank turning it like that. Supposedly I bought a legit PB from a show last year that I took a chance on and its changed colors 3 times in my tank.

I doubt it’ll ever be what a real PB is. My buddy has one that’s very close to it and it’s pretty, even though it may not be an ORA PB.

Your first pic has colors that resemble it, but many will say the striations in the skin aren’t characteristic of a true PB.

Doesn’t even look like the same species to keep but I really like the colors in that last pic!

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?
