Started cycling my 40 breeder setup with Dr Tims I am on day 6. Ammonia has been at 0.5, nitrites climbing. Haven't measured nitrates so not sure where those are yet.

Im monitoring Alk with my Neptune Apex/Trident and Alk was 8.5 when I started and has been gradually declining for 6 days. I am below 7 currently. In the spirit of stability I am wanting to either setup my DOS thats on standby or turn on the auto water change setup to try to keep ALK up. My better judgement says be patient and just do the WC at the end of the 2 weeks like the instructions say to do.

Nothing in the tank yet besides bare rock and sand.
